they knew each other since they were 5,
from the same school and shared similar lives.
in time they became brother-sister,
but somewhat connection brought them closer.
they hung out everyday after school,
during hot summers and winter cools.
rain or shine or blizzard or storm,
they'd still end up at each other's dorm.
few years passed and they've grown out,
from simple playmates without a doubt.
she hung with her friends and he did with his,
and the connection between them slowly dismissed.
one day while walking down to school,
she walked passed him as he was tying his shoe.
hello she said and he replied,
hey girl, time sure knows how to fly.
they started to chat and it couldnt end,
its been so long since they felt more than friends.
the walk to school was pleasantly sweet,
like how they'd hold hands when they were kids.
the whole time in class they thought the same thing,
bout that morning and how they were feeling.
they felt strange like never before,
the strong connection at age 5 but much more.
he picked her up after class and went home together,
confessed that he loved her more than a sister.
'so do i' she replied with a pleasant smile.
then he offered to carry her heavy file.
she smiled so sweetly and leaned to pass it to him,
then she sensed that their lips were closing in.
her file dropped to the ground as their eyes met,
and everything else in the world they'd forget.
there they stood under the warm evening sun,
problems forgotten and worries shun.
lips and soul they connected,
in his arms she felt so protected.
together they held hands and strolled back home,
as their shadows met when the sun was shone.
they felt just like when they were little kids,
but somewhat different, changed by a kiss.
